We are seeking to recognize businesses that act sustainably under these five categories:
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
WATER CONSERVATION
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS MANAGEMENT
TRANSPORTATION
THRIVING COMMUNITY AND EQUITY
The Green Business program seeks to support local Summit County based businesses in achieving zero-carbon and zero waste goals.
The Green Business program was initiated in 2016 by Recycle Utah, and has since grown to over over 30 members as of 2022. With new partnerships, we bring new rigor, transparency and recognition to Green Business in Park City and beyond.
HOW IT WORKS
STEP 1: Sign up and get started.
We’ll review your business details and set up your account. Then you can log into the portal to get started. Your Green Business coordinator can answer questions and guide your progress. We’re here to support you!
Step 2: Complete actions and earn points.
You will have access to a tailored list of actions to get started on right away, with instructions and resources. Each action you complete and submit in the portal earns points towards your certification.
Step 3: Schedule a walkthrough.
When you’ve submitted enough actions, schedule an in-person walkthrough of your business with our team. We’ll score your completed actions, award your certification, and discuss next steps.
Step 4: Enjoy your certification!
Earn bronze, silver, and gold level certifications. Each level comes with a toolkit of badges to showcase your work. Keep completing actions to level up, and make sure to recertify every three years.
To make progress on the goals of net-zero carbon and zero waste, Recycle Utah has collaborated with Summit County, Park City Municipal, Park City Community Foundation, and the Park City Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau to bring new resources and recognition for businesses committed to sustainability.
