Pick Up Park City: Community Trash Cleanups

April 19, 2023 by

Our community is proud that we take it upon ourselves to clean up and make our home even more beautiful than it already is. Join us for any of the below dates.

Sunday 8/24 9 am.

Meet at 9 am in the parking lot of the Bitner Road Firehouse. We’ll get organized and continue our work on RT-80 and Highland Drive.

If you have questions, contact David Nicholas at 770-842-5426 or dmn1954@gmail.com.

Saturday 9/13 9:30-12.

Join Recycle Utah in helping keep one of our main entries into Park City clean. Meet in the Park City High School’s lower parking lot, wear bright clothing and best to have closed toed shoes and work gloves. Recycle Utah will be providing some reflective vests, bags and some “picker uppers.”

Register here!

All events above are weather-dependent. We recommend contacting the organizer if the weather is unpredictable.

Want to pick up litter with your own group?
Groups can rent trash grabbers, vests, and bags from Recycle Utah! Call us at (435) 649-9698 to reserve trash grabbers anytime.

Thank you to our Pick Up Park City sponsor UServeUtah.

Earth Day Celebration

January 16, 2023 by

Join Recycle Utah and Green Business Program member, Twisted Fern, on Earth Day, Monday, April 22 from 5 to 8 pm as we celebrate our beautiful Earth and the work we do together to protect it.

Our 2024 Earth Day Celebration will include food, drinks, and a silent auction featuring local businesses, all in support of Recycle Utah’s education program. This is a 21+ event.

Thank you to Twisted Fern, Offset Bier Co, and Old Town Cellars for supporting Earth Day!

Online ticket sales are now closed. Limited tickets will be available at the door!

The Auction is now only in-person at the Earth Day Celebration. If there is something you really want, use the “Buy Now” option for it to be yours!

Harvest Fest

August 22, 2022 by

The 14th Annual Harvest Festival will be Saturday, October 5, from 11:00 to 4:00 pm at Cattlemen’s Hall in Oakley. The festival is free and open to the public.

There will be dozens of vendors selling a dazzling array of local goods; you’re bound to admire the character, flavor, and creativity of the area! The festival will feature local food and drink, activities for kids, live music, local crafts, and more.

Hazardous Waste Day

August 22, 2022 by

Please note that Hazardous Waste Day is NOT at the Cabriolet Parking Lot this year! We will be at the Silver King Parking Lot at the Mountain Village Base of PCMR.

Summit County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Silver King parking lot at Park City Mountain Resort. Donations appreciated!

One of our primary goals is to keep toxic chemicals and heavy metals out of our environment. When toxic materials like mercury, lead, and pesticides end up in the landfill they leach into the ground and your drinking water.

Summit County Residents only. NO businesses and yes, we can tell if you’re a business!

WHAT WE’RE ACCEPTING:

  • Paints, varnishes, solvents
  • Motor oil, antifreeze
  • All types of batteries
  • Gasoline
  • Household cleaners
  • Fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides
  • Pool and spa chemicals
  • Acids
  • Propane and white gas fuel cylinders
  • Compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs)
  • Electronic waste: computers, monitors, TVs, cell phones, laptops, cables (must be able to carry TVs using 1 person only)
  • All mercury-containing items
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Mattresses (for $20/item fee)

We are accepting BIKES!
In partnership with the Bicycle Collective and Sunrise Rotary,  we will be taking bikes (all conditions). Bikes will either be sold to fund the Collective’s charitable programs; some will be donated to adults and children in need. All unusable pieces will be recycled.

Special thanks to Park City Municipal, Summit County, Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District, and Park City Sunrise Rotary for making this event possible!

May Dumpster Days

June 1, 2022 by

Save yourself a trip to the landfill and take advantage of Dumpster Days!

Dumpster Days at Recycle Utah will be held on May 29th – 31st from 9 AM – 4 PM. Bins will be hauled away promptly at 4:00 PM.

Two large bins will be placed on Woodbine Way for garbage and yard waste.

Summit County residential waste only. Businesses will be turned away and yes, we know if you are a business!

Recycle Utah requests that patrons only use the dumpsters during designated drop-off hours. Volunteers will be available to assist you. No overnight dumping.

The following items are NOT accepted during Dumpster Days: mattresses, tires, refrigerators, and hazardous materials.  To learn how to dispose of these items, go here.

Call for volunteers! Email outreach@recycleutah.org if you’d like to volunteer for Dumpster Days.
